ADD SOME STRIDE TO YOUR RIDE...

  Welcome

Welcome to Dettmers Rising Sun.  We are Jennifer and Jim Dettmer.  Our farm is located in Huntington, Indiana.

Congratulations to this fall's successes: Sarah Meier on her AQHA Congress Top Ten and Sharon Miller on her APHA Fall Championship Top Ten!  Read about more successes on Thanks' page...

We are in the business of breeding the best and helping those who share our passion for great horses.  Our expertise in the breeding shed has been honed over years spent learning from other breeding facilities and our own experience with standing our own stallion.  We understand the importance of not over-extending ourselves so we can supply the best experience and product to our clients.

In the 2008 season, we began a new phase of our breeding careers by taking on two outside stallions.  Kim and Kevin Engle owned both of those stallions, and we worked closely with her and her clients to create the best breeding season that we have had yet.

2009 will continue to bring changes and growth to breeding operations.  We are partnering with Jon Kern so that we may continue to give more options to our clients.  Jon will be helping Jim manage the stallions and will be breeding mares at our sister facility in Albion, Indiana.  We will be standing a total of five stallions this coming season.  Four of those slots have already been filled.  If you would like us to help manage your stallion, please give us a call as soon as possible.

Thanks For Com En

"Thanks" is a17 hand sorrel overo stallion by the late, See Me Com En.  Thanks was fourth place at the APHA World Show in 2003 in the three year old Hunter Under Saddle Challenge.  Due to an injury, he has not been shown since.  Fortunately, he has been very successful as a sire.  Please take a look at his page for more about him and his progeny.

Preferred Goods

"Roan Boy" is a young Quarter Horse stallion.  He has a tremendous personality, and is all business when in the saddle.  He has not been campaigned due to an injury, but is currently undergoing therapy to make an appearance in the show pen a possibility.  He has a beautiful jog and lope and we are very excited to see his progeny begin hitting the show pen.

MORE TO COME

Due to pending purchase agreements, we cannot release the names of the World Champion producing stallions we currently have booked.
